If you’re looking for a memorable brunch in Montreal, Regine Cafe stands out as a must-visit spot. Nestled in the heart of the Rosemont neighborhood, this cozy café blends retro elegance, a welcoming atmosphere, and an inventive menu that celebrates brunch in all its forms. A true institution for both local foodies and curious visitors, Régine lives up to its reputation: here, every plate is crafted with care, and every sip brings a surprise.

From the moment you arrive, the decor wraps around you. Plush banquettes, elegant tableware, retro touches—the setting is as delightful as the plate. The welcome is warm, and the service is seamless. You settle in and take your time.

Juices and smoothies as fresh as they are original

It’s impossible to start this brunch without mentioning the house-made juices and smoothies. I was blown away by the green cocktail—an audacious blend of avocado, mango, pineapple, and kale. A burst of freshness on the palate, both nourishing and surprising, that sets the tone for the rest of the meal. The other juices, all freshly pressed, further confirm Régine’s commitment to quality ingredients.

Regine Cafe: Generous and flavorful brunch cuisine

“Egg and Beef”: a brilliantly revisited classic

Among the must-tries on the menu, the dish “Egg and Beef” is a real favorite. The perfectly runny eggs Benedict rest atop a tender, juicy piece of beef. The Béarnaise sauce, although a bit light on shallots and tarragon for my taste, remains creamy and ties everything together subtly. It’s a comforting, generous, and flawlessly executed dish.

The mushroom toast: good, but could be improved.

The mushroom toast is a great vegetarian option: sautéed mushrooms served on crispy bread. The only small downside is that the raclette cheese, although listed, goes unnoticed and could have been more prominent to bring a true cheesy character.

Desserts at Régine: the carrot cake

The meal ends on a high note with the house-made carrot cake. Moist, perfectly spiced, and generously portioned, it offers excellent value for money.
