Barroco in Old Montreal stands out for its rustic ambiance and refined dishes, skillfully blending Mediterranean flavors. Under the direction of Chef Jérémie Falissard, a former contestant on Top Chef France, the restaurant offers a menu that combines French, Italian, and Spanish influences with a local touch. Barroco is known for its fresh oysters, delicate tartare, and generous dishes like prime rib. Signature dishes like paella can also be found. The menu highlights high-quality ingredients, prepared with precision and creativity.

The menu also offers a selection of desserts and an impressive wine collection to accompany the dishes. The atmosphere at Barroco, with its rustic yet elegant decor, provides an intimate experience, perfect for special occasions or relaxed evenings with friends. Jérémie Falissard brings his vision of gourmet and refined cuisine, combining the simplicity of seasonal ingredients with mastered culinary techniques.

The crafted cocktail menu will also delight Epicureans. Having tried the tartare, I was still disappointed by the very conventional side dish, which lacked the creativity expected from this type of restaurant. The fettuccine with mussels offered a lovely harmony with its light sauce reminiscent of Spain. However, it is also difficult not to notice the lack of vegetarian options beyond the starters.
