Les Arlots are part of those Parisian bistros that aim to bring the great classics of French cuisine back into the spotlight. The menu celebrates timeless dishes such as the famous house-made sausage and mashed potatoes, as well as traditional onion soup, a true emblem of the Parisian bistro at its most sincere.

The chalkboard menu, deliberately short, evolves with the seasons. It complements the classic staples with a few daily specials, always offered at reasonable prices. The space is warm and welcoming, centered around a large solid-wood bar facing an impressive wall of wine bottles. The atmosphere is intentionally simple, with plain wooden tables and no unnecessary aesthetic embellishment.

The terrine arrives generously portioned. The combination of the terrine’s savory character and the sweetness of the apricot jam adds an interesting note. However, in my view, the terrine (perfectly executed) stands well on its own.

This is followed by the famous Arlots sausage, lightly browned and nicely firm, served atop a smooth, silky mashed potato purée and generously coated in a traditional brown sauce. A classic dish, flawlessly executed, which easily explains the reputation of Les Arlots as one of Paris’s benchmark bistros.
