Following in the footsteps of Café Parvis and Furco, the family is expanding with Papito, not far away on Saint-Alexandre Street. The name pays homage to the memory of Alejandra Ponce Pacheco’s father, affectionately called “Papito,” following his sudden passing in August 2023.
The convivial and familial spirit is well-present in a sharing atmosphere of delicious meats cooked on a long charcoal and wood grill – the centerpiece of the stove. The spacious and – alas – noisy space is reminiscent of large Parisian bistro halls with high ceilings but festive. However, we will patiently await the arrival of the terrace.
The products are local and of high quality, with grilled meats such as American-cut chicken, duck breast, sausages, pork ribs, all in a seasonal and no-waste spirit. Everything is generously served with a series of sides, from polenta to charcoal-baked potatoes. There are also meat sauces like chimichurri and béarnaise.
The sharing spirit is essential, inviting everyone to share their meat in the middle of the table, arriving in a large silver platter. There is something for all tastes and budgets, thanks to high-quality meat cuts like prime rib, but expect a budget of $50 without the wines. ( La carte est à ce moment disponible ici )
A small downside, however, is the salad which disappointed my dining partner… but a good recommendation for meat lovers.
